Article 4 of the EU AI Act has been in force since 2 August 2026. Organisations must be able to demonstrate measures taken to support staff AI literacy. Organisations that cannot demonstrate measures taken to support staff AI literacy may face regulatory action. Member states set national penalties under the AI Act's general infringement tier.
