TalentPath exists to make EU workers' digital skills visible, portable, and verifiable. Built on DigComp 3.0, ESCO v1.2, and W3C Verifiable Credentials — the same standards that underpin Europass and the EU Digital Identity Wallet — it turns abstract competence frameworks into practical tools for workers, employers, and policy makers.
EU Joint Research Centre
The European digital competence framework for citizens. Defines 5 areas and 21 competences. Updated November 2025.
European Commission
The European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations taxonomy. 13,000+ skills and 3,000+ occupations — the EU standard for skill portability.
W3C Recommendation
Machine-readable, tamper-proof credentials issued at assessment completion. Compatible with the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI).
For a worker moving across borders
Free assessment, 60 questions, no account. On passing you receive a W3C Verifiable Credential mapped to DigComp 3.0 — shareable with any employer in any EU country. List yourself pseudonymously in the Talent Pool; your identity is shared only when you approve a request.
For an employer meeting Article 4
Add your team, assign the AI Literacy assessment. Results flow into a compliance dashboard with per-person certificates. Export the evidence package — who was assessed, when, and which DigComp domains they covered — all cryptographically verifiable.
For an HR team hiring from outside the EU
Browse the Talent Pool or the jobs board to see which roles and countries sponsor work permits. Verify a candidate's certificate code in seconds and see which DigComp domains they are strong in.
For a policy analyst tracking skill gaps
Check automation risk and AI exposure for any ESCO occupation. Cross-reference with live EURES vacancy data. All underlying research is cited; the methodology is published.
How is this different from the Europass self-assessment?
Europass offers self-evaluation — you rate yourself. TalentPath is a supervised, timed assessment with 60 questions drawn from a 193-item bank, scored against published cut scores, and the result is a W3C Verifiable Credential that any employer can check cryptographically. Self-assessment tells an employer what you think; a verified credential tells them what you demonstrated.
Why not just use a generic LMS for Article 4 compliance?
A generic LMS can deliver training, but Article 4 requires evidence of measures taken. TalentPath issues signed, tamper-proof W3C Verifiable Credentials per person, bundles them into a compliance evidence package, and maps everything to DigComp 3.0 — the EU's official competence framework. That specificity matters when a regulator asks for documentation.
What about Tosa DigComp, Specto DCA, or other DigComp assessments?
Most DigComp assessments issue a PDF or badge. TalentPath issues W3C Verifiable Credentials — machine-readable, cryptographically signed, compatible with the EU Digital Identity Wallet, and verifiable by anyone without contacting TalentPath. The platform also combines assessment with ESCO skill mapping, cross-border portability tools, and live labour market intelligence in one place.
TalentPath is built and maintained by the TalentPath Team — practitioners working at the intersection of EU skills policy, digital competence assessment, and labour market intelligence. We are independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Commission.
The platform's credibility comes from its rigour: fully published methodology, official EU frameworks (DigComp 3.0, ESCO v1.2), cited peer-reviewed research, and transparent data sources. We believe platforms making claims about European workers' skills should be accountable for how those claims are made.
